1. Size – Print/Embroidery Dimensions
We will size your print or embroidery appropriately unless you specify exact dimensions. All branding will be consistent across garments unless you request adjustments for specific sizes or provide corporate guidelines. Our goal is to achieve the best possible outcome for your order.
2. Colours
If you’ve provided a Pantone colour reference, we will match it as closely as possible. If no reference is supplied, we’ll select a suitable match.
3. Visuals
The visual proof you receive will be a representation of your logo placed on a generic garment. Please note, this is a guide and not to scale. Placement may vary due to seams, zippers, or other branding elements. Be sure to double-check colours, size, spelling, and fonts before confirming your order.

File Requirements and Logo Dimensions
Embroidery
- File Requirements: We accept most file formats, but artwork should be 300 dpi or higher for easier digitising.
- Chest/ Yoke Logo Size: 8-10 cm wide.
- Sleeve Logo Size: Smaller sizes due to garment and machine limitations. We’ll advise on any constraints, especially for ladies' and children's garments.
- Cap Logo Size: Max height of 5 cm.
- Back Logo Size: 26 cm wide. For embroidered lettering, the minimum height is 6 mm.
Direct to Garment (DTG) Printing
- File Requirements: Files must be saved in CMYK RGB. Formats such as .AI or .EPS are preferred.
- Maximum Size: 38 cm x 48 cm. Ideal for back or front prints on t-shirts, hoodies, polo shirts, and bags.
Vinyl Printing
- File Requirements: Vectored artwork is needed for plotting vinyl. Files must be in .AI or .EPS format.
- Maximum Size: 36 cm x 48 cm for back prints. Smaller designs can be placed in other areas, but some restrictions may apply.
Digital Transfer
- File Requirements: Most file formats are accepted, but raster images should be at least 300 dpi for best results. Low-resolution images such as web graphics may affect the print quality.
- Maximum Size: A3.
Laser Branding
- File Requirements: Vectored artwork is required unless using photographic designs (min 300 dpi).
- Material Compatibility: Laser branding works best on fleeces, soft-shell jackets, micro-fibre, and denim. There are no size restrictions except for logo placement.
Sublimation Printing
- File Requirements: High-quality vector files or 300 dpi JPEGs are recommended.
- Maximum Sizes: A4 or A3. This method is limited to polyester garments and specific promotional items.
Screen Printing
- File Requirements: We request files with separated colour layers or we can do this for a small charge. Final artwork should be provided in .PDF format.
- Maximum Size: 43 cm x 48 cm, up to 6 colours.
Additional Artwork Guidelines
- Submitting Artwork: Please email your artwork or share via cloud storage links (e.g., Dropbox, OneDrive).
- Vector Artwork: Always supply artwork as vector graphics (.AI, .EPS) with outlined fonts exported as .PDF. Raster images (e.g., JPEG, PNG) should be at least 300 dpi for high-quality prints.
- Conversion Services: If you don’t have vector files, we can convert your artwork for a small fee.

1. Easy Returns Process
At Thread Studio, we want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. If your item is faulty, not as described, or doesn’t function as expected, you can return it within 14 days of delivery for a full refund.
2. Non-Returnable Items
Please note, we cannot accept returns for the following unless they are faulty or supplied incorrectly:
- Customised items, such as goods that have been embroidered or printed.
- Items assembled to your specifications.
- Special order items that are not part of our standard product range.

Key Return Guidelines
14-Day Return Window: If you don't request a return within 14 days of delivery, we will consider the goods as accepted, and a return will no longer be possible.
Sizing Information: Ensure you carefully check product sizing before placing your order. As we stock garments from different manufacturers, sizing can vary significantly. Each product page includes specific size guides to help you make the right choice.
Exclusions & Responsibilities
- We are not responsible for errors in spelling, punctuation, or grammar made by the customer in signed-off artwork.
- Poor quality or low-resolution images uploaded by the customer may result in sub-par printing results.
- Any design errors introduced during the customer's design process or user-selected options like product type or size will not be refunded.
Faulty Goods or Errors
In the rare event of receiving faulty garments or an error in your order, please notify us within 3 days of receipt. The item must not have been worn or washed. Once received, we will either correct the error, offer a replacement, or provide a refund.
Refunds & Exchanges
- We do not offer refunds or exchanges on non-faulty goods, as personalised items have no resale value. Therefore, it is essential to verify garment sizes using the provided size guides before confirming your order.
- Non-personalised items can be returned within 14 days for a full refund, provided they are unworn, with original tags and packaging intact.

Can you match Pantone colours?
We aim to match Pantone colours closely for embroidery and printing. For vinyl, a limited colour palette applies.
Do your prices include VAT?
All prices are exclusive of VAT. Your quote will show branding costs and VAT.
How can I pay?

Yes, as long as it’s in EMB or DST format. Sending a photo helps with colour matching.
What format should my logo be in?
Vector formats (.ai, .eps, .pdf) are preferred. We also accept high-resolution JPEGs for printing.
How do I know which size to order?
Check the size guide for each product. Sizes are ‘to fit’ measurements.
Can I order garments with no printing or embroidery?
Yes, unbranded clothing is available and usually delivered in 3-4 days, depending on stock.
Do you offer other items than those on the website?
Yes, if you don’t see what you need, let us know and we’ll try to source it for you.
What does delivery cost?
Standard delivery is £9.95 per box. Large orders and samples are quoted based on size and weight.
How should I care for my branded garment?
Wash inside out at 40°C or lower, avoid tumble drying, and never iron directly onto printed designs.
